Hello, my name is Cecelia Tackett.  I am South Conway Elementary School's Family-School Facilitator.  It is our belief here at South Conway that a parent is a child's first teacher, so our goal is to help parents obtain knowledge information to guide their children in reaching their maximum potential.  We offer a variety of workshops and activities throughout the year in order to reach this goal.  I would like to invite you to visit our Parent Center and remember to check out my favorite web sites for parents and students.

What is a Parent Center?

Schools throughout the country are designating space in or near their buildings for parents to call their own. As knowledge about the importance of family involvement in children's education takes hold, greater attention is being focused on the development of parent or family centers as an effective strategy to support and strengthen this critical goal. Some centers simply offer a coffee pot and a comfortable spot for parents to gather; others provide a full range of services for families.
Each parent or family center reflects the character of its school and its surrounding community. Each is shaped and defined by the families it serves and each carries the message to parents that they are valued, respected, and important.

Parents are invited to visit the Parent Center during school hours anytime throughout the school year. Listed below is a sampling of the wide array of instructional materials and supplies that are available for parents to sign out at no cost.
