For the 2008-2009 school year, teachers will again average grades four times during the semester. However, the interim grade which is calculated 4 ½ weeks into the grading period will not be a permanent grade. It will be a progress report grade at that time and be changed to the nine-weeks' average at the end of the grading period. Once the nine-weeks' grade is entered, the interim grade will disappear from the report card. At 13 ½ weeks there will be another interim grading period. This grade also will disappear from the report card once the actual grade for the second nine-week period is entered. At the end of the term, there will be only three grades to average: the first nine weeks, the second nine weeks, and the final exam. These three grades are to be calculated in the following manner: First nine weeks = 40% Second nine weeks = 40% Final exam = 20% The grading scale is as follows: A= 93-100 B= 85-92 C= 77- 84 D= 70-76 F= Below 70 |
