Benedict College will host the Summer Transportation Institute for rising 10th and 11th grade students. The four-week residential institute is a structured learning opportunity for youth in the secondary school systems of South Carolina. To qualify students must: - be a rising 10th or 11th grader
- have a 2.5 or higher GPA
- have an interest in Engineering, Science, Transportation or Technology base careers
- Have two letters of recommendation from the student’s science and math teachers
- Have PSAT/ PLAN scores
- be able to attend the entire Institute
Applications are due by May 23rd.

- Each camp runs for one week.
- The Chicora Rotary Club is sponsoring two $500.00 scholarships for HCS students who are interested in attending the GSSM Summer Science Program 2008. Interested students should do the following:
- Complete the application for the summer Science Program
- Submit an essay explaining who they would like to attend the Summer Science Program and what they expect from the experience.
- Submit tow recommendation letters
- Deadline for student applications to be considered for the Chicora rotary Club scholarship is April, 23. Essay and recommendations should be turned in to Julie Hearn. Pease see Ms. Hearn for additional information.
