HORRY COUNTY SCHOOLS
NOTICE TO PARENTS OF STUDENTS AT HOMEWOOD ELEMENTARY, LORIS ELEMENTARY, MYRTLE BEACH PRIMARY, PEE DEE ELEMENTARY, SOUTH CONWAY ELEMENTARY, LORIS MIDDLE, AND WHITTEMORE PARK MIDDLE
The federal No Child Left Behind Act requires identified Title I schools in Horry County that have not made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), for two or more consecutive years, to offer Public School Choice for identified schools during the 2011-2012 school year.
Parents of students at Homewood Elementary, Loris Elementary, Myrtle Beach Primary, Pee Dee Elementary, South Conway Elementary, Loris Middle and Whittemore Park Middle schools have the option to transfer to another designated school.
District and school staff administrators are providing parents information during the August School Registration dates and during the time of registration for late registrants. Any parent who does not receive this information during the time of registration should contact Judy Stall, Coordinator of Federal Programs for Horry County Schools, at 488-6809.
The deadline to request Public School Choice for the 2011-2012 school year for any of the above listed schools is Tuesday, August 19th, 2011, at 4:00 P.M.
