Screening
Screening is defined as the process by which to separate from a large group of apparently healthy individuals, those who have or are at risk of having a defined disorder.
All students with positive screening test results will be referred for a more definitive evaluation, and if appropriate, treatment. The benefit is the reduction in morbidity from early intervention among those with true positive results who are in need of treatment.
The need for improvements in program efficiency is determined by periodic review of research on the value of each program. Also, periodic assessment of the program effectiveness within the community must be made.
