Richard Hathaway of Palmetto Bays Elementary School was named the 2009 Specific Learning Disabilities Teacher of the Year by the Carolinas Chapter of the Council for Learning Disabilities. Hathaway is a special education teacher at Palmetto Bays Elementary School. He will be recognized at the 31st International Conference on Learning Disabilities on October 2-3 in Dallas, Texas. He receives a complementary conference registration, a $200 honorarium, and $250 toward travel expenses.
During the conference, Hathaway will participate in a Master Teacher Showcase and will be presented with an award.
