December 15, 2007 In an exciting double elimination match, Aynor High School
defeated first runner-up North Myrtle Beach High School, to retain
Championship of Horry County Schools' annual Academic Olympics which
was held at Coastal Carolina University. The district’s high schools
participated in the fast-paced games in which students are challenged
to answer questions on many different subjects including math,
literature, history, science, current events, and sports. After each
question is asked by a moderator, the students "buzz in" to answer and
win points for their team in a quiz bowl style format.
