All schools will be a safe learning environment where students are drug and alcohol free and safe from violence. HCS will continue to coordinate culturally competent school and environmental strategies to address community, school, peer, individual, and familial risk factors for violence, unintended pregnancy, and ATOD use.

HCSD will measure our progress on these goals by periodically reviewing student discipline data.  By the end of the school year, we expect to see a 5 % reduction in the percentage of students who:

• Carried a weapon
• Engaged in a physical fight
• Possessed illegal drugs
• Distributed an illegal substance
• Engaged in a bullying incident
• Became pregnant
• Received a tobacco policy violation
