2010 Science P.L.U.S. Institute at Roper Mountain is now accepting applications
Click here for information about this program which is open to any South Carolina public school teacher in grades 3-8 whose job responsibilities include teaching science. Deadline to apply is February 1, 2010.


Mathcounts competition to be held for seventh and eighth graders

Assess Online has been retired!
Assess Online is being replaced by the new HCS Data Center. This new system will extract data from the HCS Data Warehouse and display in the information in a variety of user reports. Read more.


Sun News in Education
The Sun News in Education is a cooperative effort of newspapers and local schools designed to enhance learning through the use of the newspaper and to promote literacy. Read more.


Free admission for students to Medieval Times when they participate in Knight Time Reader! 
The program is specific for grades K-8 and will reward students with an official Certificate of Achievement and FREE admission at the the Myrtle Beach castle. Read more.

2009-10 Planning Calendar is online
The HCS Planning Calendar is now online. It is an interactive page-flip book that you can access whenever you need it. There is also a printer-friendly version. 


Pay Notice Change:
We have implemented a self-service system to allow employees online access to their direct deposit statements.  New statements will be available every payday.  You will also be able to view and print previous statements.  Effective June 15, 2009 we will no longer deliver printed statements of direct deposit.


Laptop Initiative Application:
The application for the 2009-2010 laptop initiative is now Closed. If you are a full-time or part-time classroom teacher in Horry County, and are not currently part of the laptop initiative or have not applied, the application may be opened back up as equipment becomes avaliable. 

If more equipment becomes avaliable, the application may reopen at a later date.
