  • Security Officer

Horry County Schools is committed to providing safe and secure campuses for teaching and learning. The Board's recent decision to place security officers at all elementary schools for the 2018-19 school year provides further evidence of this commitment. Phase I of this implementation places security officers at elementary schools on a rotating basis until the end of this school year. A security officer will be placed at every school by the start of school next August. Please join our school staff in welcoming Officer Andy Milonas to our school. Officer Milonas comes to us with many years of experience in law enforcement and will serve the following schools during phase I: Forestbrook Elementary, River Oaks Elementary, Ocean Bay Elementary, and Carolina Forest Elementary. We are thankful to have Officer MIlonas on our team.

  • High 5's and Handshakes

When your child arrives at school on March 29th, they will see officers with their police vehicles and flashing lights on campus. Those officers will greet children as they got off the bus or out of the car and offer then an encouraging handshake or high five to start their day. This event is as much fun for the officers as it is for our children and our hope is that through continuing events such as these, we will further strengthen the relationships that make the community of Forestbrook so strong. We also hope this will enable our children to see law enforcement officers and other first responders as the community helpers and positive role models they are.
