Degrees and Certifications:
I currently teach 6th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies here at Socastee Middle School. In the past, I have taught at the Elementary and Middle School levels in Horry County and have served as an online professor for Literacy at Western Governors University. I am certified to teach Elementary (all subjects), Middle School English andSocial Studies and High School English. I am also Gifted and Talented and Read to Succeed Certified.
Balancing work and family is not just something I do, it’s a way of life for me. I try and devote all of myself to both. My family is my passion that drives my reason why. My husband and I have three amazing boys. Ajay is a student at the College of Charleston, Krishan is a sophomore at SJHS and Tayson is a sixth grade Socastee Warrior with me. They drive me to strive for greatness every day.
My most cherished role at school is being a classroom teacher because I am able to interact with children and get the opportunity to shape young citizens every day. Shaping young personalities is also why I love drama. Being the lead of Socastee Middle’s first drama club is an exciting honor. Drama provides for self-expression, instills confidence, increases self-esteem and engages the imagination. Involvement in drama club productions teaches responsibility and commitment while also fostering a sense of community and developing new friendships. Being able to offer this opportunity to the students of SMS is a privilege.
I am so lucky to be a Socastee Middle School Warrior. It has been an exciting ride so far and I know it will only get better from here!
