Mrs. Vicki Underwood, Principal

Mrs. Underwood is a native of Florence, SC. She is married to Al Underwood and has one son, Win, who is a junior at Francis Marion College. The Underwood's live in Little River.
Mrs. Underwood has 39 years of experience encompassing PE, teaching grades 3-5, Counseling, Assistant Principal and Principal. She has a Bachelors in Health and Physical Education from Winthrop College; a Master’s in Education with Emphasis in Counseling from Frances Marion College and a Masters in Administration from Capella University.
She enjoys working with students and encourages them to make good choices every day and be the best they can be. Mrs. Underwood attends St. John's Greek Orthodox Church in Myrtle Beach. She enjoys jet skiing, boating, 4-wheeling, reading, swimming, but most of all her Shih Tzu dog, Coco.
Ms. Vivian Harpley, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Harpley is originally from Akron, Ohio where she was a teacher of grades 1-6, an Assistant Principal and an Elementary School Principal. She taught at the University of Akron and has also worked with the State Department of Education of Ohio as a Northeast Ohio Coordinator of PRAXIS III.
When Mrs. Harpley and her husband moved to North Myrtle Beach, she became an Assistant Principal and worked in that capacity for seven years, additionally working at CCU assisting Student Interns when they began their teaching. Since retiring from HCS, she has been substituting for Assistant Principals / Principals when the need arises. She loves working with students, staff and parents, as education is very inspiring on a daily basis. Sometimes there is agreement, sometimes disagreement, but there is always growth. This belief is what keeps her motivated to work with children of all ages.
Mrs. Harpley is married with two adult children and five grandchildren. She loves to read, garden, and travel and has spent two summers working at Yellowstone National Park and Grand Canyon National Park – what an adventure!! Their dog, Winston, is a chocolate lab and usually goes with them on their adventures.
Mrs. Harpley will finish the school year at Riverside Elementary and has known Mrs. Underwood and about one-third of the staff for several years at various schools, so RSE is almost like coming home!
