DECA is an international association of high school and college students and teachers of marketing, management, and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality, and marketing sales and service. The organization prepares leaders and entrepreneurs for careers and education in all areas of business and marketing.
Students meet monthly, and have the opportunity to attend the State's fall leadership conference, the Region 3 competition, and the State competition and convention this Spring. Students excelling at State, may also compete at the International Career Developent Conference, held also in the Spring.
On Saturday, March, 19 the LHS DECA Chapter Members volunteered their service at the Father's Cup Ministries Church in Longs, SC by packaging and distributing items for the monthly Food Drive. The LHS DECA members worked very hard, took great instructions and did all of this with a willing heart. As a token of appreciation, the church offered the students the opportunity to take a box of items home to their families. Instead, the LHS DECA members decided to bring their boxes back to Loris High School and donate to any of their fellow students who were more in need. These young people worked hard to make the Food Drive run efficiently and we applaud them for their giving spirit and willingness to donate their free time to help a great cause. Leaders give back! Go LHS DECA!
