The Green Team is designed to educate schools and community alike about energy efficiency and conservation, and to promote energy efficienct habits. The Green Team consists of ten fifth and sixth grade students who meet 3 times a month after school. Members are selected through an application and written statement process. this Club is based on four principles of conserving energy: monitoring, awareness, education and assessment. We understand that efficiency and conservation are key components of energy sustainability-the notion that each generation should meet its energy needs without compromising the needs of future generations.
The Green Team will meet 3 times a month on Thursdays. The club will meet from 2:40-3:30 PM at school. We will conduct experiments, do contests with other schools, and create different forms of media to communicate with the public. In addition to the 3 Thursdays each month, there may be one of two Saturdays during the year where our club may be doing activitites.
January 11th, 18th
February 1st, 8th, 22nd
March 1st, 15th, 22nd
April 12th, 19th, 26th (possible Saturday for Earth Day)
