•   St. James Intermediate Clubs

    Applications will be available for the following clubs starting the week of August 27th during all lunches. Applications do not guarantee students a spot in the club. A rubric will be used to determine the final club members. We ask that students only commit to two clubs, but they are welcome to apply for multiple clubs. Most clubs will meet after school until 4:00 PM unless otherwise notified. 

    Fall Only Clubs

    • Drama ClubStudents will learn about both the performance aspect as well as the technical aspects of theater. This will do through improv games, lecture, performance, and observation.
      • Weekly – Every Tuesday – Fall Semester Only – 30 Students

    • Sports Club – Students to be educated on all different types of sports.
    • Color Guard Club – To interpret the music that the marching band is playing via the synchronized work of flags and twirl batons through dance. *Chance to perform at the St. James High School Homecoming Game on Friday, October 5th *

    All School Year Long Clubs

    • Student Council Association (SCA) – SCA is a group of highly motivated students who strive to better the school through leadership and dedication to improve our school’s environment. It is a yearlong commitment that requires involvement in and out of the school setting.
      • Meetings will be held Monday-Friday at least twice a month. Students are only required to attend 1 a month – 75 Students

    • Yearbook/Photography (6th GRADE ONLY) – Students will have the opportunity to take part in creating the 2018-19 SJI Yearbook using photography and the online program used from LifeTouch Studios.
    • Running Club – Objective: For students to foster the love of running and fitness in young adults.
    • Green Team Club – Objective: Educate students, staff, and community on the benefits of going Green.
    • Art Club – Objective: To dive a little deeper into the arts.
    • Anti-Bullying Club – Objective: To promote positive school culture and an encouraging bully-free environment for all students.
    • Jaw Club (6th GRADE STUDENTS) – Students will work together to produce videos for the school YouTube channel and provide the school with the daily news.
      • Once a month after school on Tuesday – Daily Morning (on rotation) – 6 Students

    • Coding Club – Objective: Our coding club provides a toolset that is unbounded in its potential. While coding and 21st century skills are necessary, our club also goes beyond code by incorporating robotics and technology with collaborative STEAM activities, nurturing students’ imaginations in ways no other education program can.
    • Robotics – Students will create strategic programs for robot to complete task.
    • Science Club (6th GRADE ONLY) – Objective: To promote science interest and engagement through challenging and mind-stretching task.
    • L.A.G. (Fly, Lower, And Gather) Club – Objective: To instill pride and respect among students towards the United States Flag and their State Flag.
    • Fishing Club - Objective: To teach students an understanding and appreciation of all that our natural fish resources have to offer, and how to use and enjoy them responsibility.
    • *Archery Club – Students will learn how to identify and safely use basic archery equipment.
      • Student informational meeting will be held after school on Wednesday, September 26th (5th GRADE) and Thursday, September 27th (6th GRADE). Coach Franklin will walk students through what an archery try out will look like since students will be allowed to try out for competitive archery teams. *6th Grade will compete with SJMS (emoris@horrycountyschools.net) while 5th grade will compete with Burgess Elementary (LRandolph@horrycountyschools.net)
      • Students who do not make the competitive teams will still be able to join our SJI Archery Club.
