2024 AAST Senior Ceremony Information
The 2024 AAST Senior Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 29 at 7:00 p.m. at Myrtle Beach High School Auditorium.
Location
Myrtle Beach High School is located at 3302 Robert M Grissom Pkwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. Tickets are not required. Seating is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The ceremony should last approximately one hour.
Schedule
Doors will open at 6:30 pm for guests. Seniors will need to arrive at 4:30 pm for Senior Ceremony practice via the front doors of the school. Please do not arrive before 4:30 pm. It is a school day and we must allow for the car and bus parking lots to clear. Students will report directly to the auditorium for practice, then move to the cafeteria (just to the right of the auditorium entrance) to line up for the ceremony. After the ceremony, students will return to the cafeteria to retrieve their belongings and will then proceed to the front lobby. Families plan to meet their seniors in the front lobby or outside, in front of the school. Please be sure to keep the exits clear as it will be congested as everyone exits the building.
Video Recording
AAST will record the event and make the video available to seniors and families after the event free of charge via the AAST Youtube Channel. Please allow at least a week for editing.
Parking
Seniors and guests will park in the MBHS student parking lot, which is easily accessed by turning onto Seahawk Way from Bob Grissom Parkway. Google Map
Guidelines
As this is a ceremonial event, we ask that all guests conduct themselves befitting the occasion. Alcohol is expressly forbidden. Fireworks, glassware, bottles, weapons, firearms, signs, and other items that could contribute to hazardous conditions are not allowed and will be confiscated. Anyone with items deemed to be unsafe or to be safety hazards will be asked to leave the ceremony. Because they detract from the ceremony, noisemakers, umbrellas, signs, balloons, balls or blow-up objects of any kind are prohibited. Guests are not permitted in the senior seating area and are to remain seated during the entire ceremony. Taking pictures and videotaping is allowed, but tripods and monopods are not permitted. Cameras must be battery-operated and patrons must remain seated while taking photographs and videotaping. No strollers, car seats, or baby carriers of any kind will be allowed in the seating area.
We are asking that you bring a clear bag or no bag as security will be on-site checking all attendees and their belongings.
Handicap Seating
Handicap seating areas in MBHS Auditorium are located at the rear of the auditorium on both the right and left sides. Although we don’t anticipate running out of space with an event of this size, handicap seating space is limited. Additional guests in your party may need to sit nearby outside the handicapped seating area. This seating area is first-come, first-served.
