    Students, we want to know why going to school every day is important! Join HCS in creating awareness about why attendance matters in our schools in the attendance awareness month poster contest.     Attendance awareness

    Eligibility

    This contest is open to Horry County School students currently enrolled in grades K through 8.

    Rules for students in grades K-3

    Draw a picture that shows why you like to be in school every day. Use crayons, color pencils, regular lead pencils, markers or paint. Artwork must be done on standard poster board 22 x 28 inches. It cannot be done on a computer.

    Rules for students in grades 4-5

    Come up with a slogan about the importance of coming to school every day. Draw a picture to accompany the slogan. Use crayons, color pencils, regular lead pencils, markers or paint. Artwork must be done on standard poster board 22 x 28 inches. It cannot be done on a computer. The winning picture may be used in promoting the importance of attendance.

    Judging Procedure

    Each School will select the winner from each grade level and then submit it to awilkes001@horrycountyschools.net.  Each school will determine the winners for each group. A panel of volunteers throughout Horry County will judge the contest. Winning posters may be used in future promotions.

    Entry Limit

    One poster per student. Schools can submit one poster per grade level.

    Entry Deadline

    • All poster entries must be in by the end of the day on Oct. 30, 2018.
    • Schools should submit winning posters to Horry County Schools District Office by Oct. 30, 2018.

    Winners and Prizes

    • A winner for each grade will be selected.
    • All school winners will receive a small gift.
    • There will be three (3) Grand Prize Winner K-3, 4-5, & 6-8.
    • Winners will receive a $100 gift card and their posters may be used in ads promoting school attendance.
    • 2nd and 3rd place for each group will receive $20 & $10 gift card.
