Our Mission:
The HCS Technology Fair is an annual student technology competition produced by Horry County Schools. The HCS Technology Fair is the highest level of student technology competition in our county, with over 700 projects representing the work of 1300+ students judged at the competition each spring.
Competition:
The competition is open to all HCS students in grades PreK through 12th grade. There are multiple categories in the competition, including a category for teachers only.
History:
What started with the vision of a few HCS employees quickly became a reality thanks to the financial support of John Sanders and the Grand Strand Technology Council. The HCS Technology Fair had its inaugural year in 2010. This annual event started out with roughly 300 students sharing technology projects in a space of only 6,000 square feet, and it has now exploded into over 3,000 students participating in over 700 student projects, 35 robotics teams competing for bragging rights, and 300+ students solving Rubik’s cubes in record time; all of which consume every inch of the 36,000 square foot Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
