Summer Reading 2019

Summer Reading
  • Kingston Elementary Summer Reading

    Cool Cats Read

Research shows if students do not read over the course of the summer, they could experience a regression in reading achievement. In order to maintain our students’ reading abilities, we highly encourage students to read for pleasure during the summer by participating in our Cool Cats Read Summer Reading Program. All rising Kindergarten-5th graders have the opportunity to read and earn an invitation to a reading party at the beginning of school.

In order to complete summer reading, your child is required to:

    1. Read and log a minimum of 600 minutes of reading this summer. A chart is attached to this letter that students should graph the total minutes read in increments of 15 minutes for June, July, and August. A parent signature is required for each month.
    2. Complete a summary form for their FAVORITE book, Achieve 3000 article or text read this summer.

    • Rising K-2nd graders complete the form: Primary Cool Cat Reader
