Rain Garden Habitat-Protect: Water
The rain garden was used as an outdoor classroom targeting wildlife habitat benefits. Students focused on the rain garden's additional value of providing wildlife a habitat this year. Students learned about bird habitats and how important plants are to the habitat. Students looked for food and water sources in the birds' habitat and compared the bird habitats in the rain garden with other gardens on our campus. Students also observed the animals located in this area and researched to make meaning as to why these animals are located in the various locations. They made birdhouses for the garden habitats.
