• Riverside Elementary Chiefs Know the Importance of Reading

Reading practice creates not only stronger readers, but lifelong readers.  Research indicates students who do not read over the course of the summer run the risk of losing ground in their reading achievement. Therefore, students are encouraged to enjoy quality literature and to continue developing their independent reading skills during Summer Break.  That is why we are challenging every student to spend quality time reading during summer vacation!  All the information is here for our 2021 Riverside Summer Reading Challenge, including directions, a reading log, and information on how to access free eBooks. Students who complete the Summer Reading Challenge will receive an ice cream treat along with other prizes and awards. Please contact Mrs. Wood at jwood@horrycountyschools.net if you have any questions. Happy Reading!
