November Staff Member of the Month: Ms. Tara Meade
Posted by Jenn Myers on 12/14/2020 10:30:00 AM14 years Counseling (Community Mental Health Setting, Foster Care Program, and in the Schools).
Graduated from Marshall University.
Received my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.
I love to spend time with my daughters, go to the beach, and travel.
I became a Counselor because I wanted to help others. I wanted to create positive change and make a difference for families.
My 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Kriss, was one of my favorites. She always encouraged me, and still checks on me today.

November Teacher of the Month: Ms. Jane Roberts
Posted by Jenn Myers on 12/14/2020 10:30:00 AMI became a teacher in 1971 and have served in various positions in the field of education for 45 years.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics, and a Masters of Secondary Education both from Winthrop University.
I love to spend time at the beach, but my favorite time is spent with friends, my husband, and family, especially my six grandchildren who are all in high school or college.
When I enrolled in college there were limited careers for women, and we had very little guidance on what to study that would prepare us for the world of work. I attended a college that was considered "the teacher college" for South Carolina, and I decided that working with young people was what I wanted to do. I have never regretted that decision.
My favorite teacher did not teach me in a classroom, but was someone I got to know in high school. Her name was Ms. Graham and I will always be thankful to her for her encouraging me to go to college and to have a career. She planted a seed in my mind that helped me to see the future and imagine the possibilities for my life.
