An employee may apply for donated leave due to a catastrophic event or serious health condition of him/herself or his/her immediate family or household. The employee must work a minimum of 30 hours per week and be on an approved leave resulting in being absent a minimum of 20 consecutive workdays. All accumulated leave must be exhausted and medical certification must be submitted to include a beginning and ending date.
Any employee who has accumulated in excess of 10 sick leave days is eligible to contribute to an employee who has been approved by the Chief Human Resources Officer to receive leave. All donated leave must be in whole day units. The maximum amount of days donated to another employee should not exceed 50% of the accumulated sick leave of the donor employee.
