March is Music in Our Schools Month!
SHS is celebrating with our annual school musical. If you haven't purchased your tickets yet, hurry before performances are sold out! Just like our other productions, this one is one not to be missed! Of course, the remainder of the semester our orchestra and bands will be performing for the community as well. Music is alive and filling the hallways and classrooms at Brave Nation!
Our talented students are rehearsing and working hard on our sets to bring you Disney's "The Little Mermaid". Ariel and all her friends - and foes - will be swimming into the SHS Auditorium from March 15th through the 19th. Performances are 7 pm every night with matinees at 3 pm on Saturday and Sunday. You won't want to miss this production! Tickets are available now at https://socasteeperformingarts.com/
Socastee's Orchestra will have a spring concert on March 2nd at 7 pm. The concert is free to the public. Join them prior to the concert from 6 pm to 7 pm for a dessert social. There is a $5 cover for the social. We hope to see everyone there!
The band will be having a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser Benefit Concert on April 21st at 6 pm in the Commons at the High School. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to support the bands at Socastee High.
On May 17th at 6 pm the band will present its spring concert in the Auditorium.
For this year's South Carolina School Boards Association (SCBSA) Conference, music ensembles from across the state had the opportunity to provide entertainment via recorded video. Socastee High's jazz band was among those selected to submit a video. Under the direction of William Jung, here is their performance of the Dave Brubeck classic, Take Five.
