Summer Reading Initiative for Rising K-5th Graders

Kingston Elementary values our students and wants them to be the best they can be. Research shows if students do not read over the course of the summer, they could experience a slide back in their reading achievement. In order to avoid this, we highly encourage our students to read for pleasure during the summer. We also value student choice.

Our summer reading initiative this summer will be Summer Reading Training Camp with Malcom Mitchell. Attached you will find the specific goals and expectations of the Summer Reading Training Camp. Parents and students will log the books read on the website OR complete the attached logs (IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO DO BOTH.)

Please contact Mrs. Thompson at mthompson@g.horrycountyschools.net if you have questions or need assistance.
