HCS Re-Opening Guides for Parents and Staff

The Horry County Board of Education approved the final Re-Opening Plan on August 4, 2020, which can be viewed here. On August 10, 2020, the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) approved the HCS Re-Opening Plan. The SCDE approval letter can be viewed here.

Parent and Student Guide

HCS has developed a Re-Opening Parent and Student Guide to assist families with details about the two instructional options HCS will offer our students and information about student transportation, meals, health procedures, and numerous other topics that are of particular interest to this school year. This guide is a condensed version of the HCS Re-Opening Plan.

  Updated October 20, 2020: On Monday, October 19, 2020, the Horry County Board of Education voted for the implementation of the hybrid instructional model for all District brick-and-mortar schools, effective October 19, 2020, until the District is able to return all brick-and-mortar schools safely to five-day, face-to-face instruction.
