iTEAMS
Sharpen your technology and coding skills this summer through one of three tracks:
July 10-13, Socastee High SchoolBlender with Your Sidekick
Have you ever wondered how computers bring animations to life? Have you ever wanted to create your own superhero sidekick? In this course, you will create a digital superhero sidekick and explore the world of 3D animation using Blender software to bring this character to life. With augmented reality, you will transport your character into the real-world, thus creating a new league of sidekicks ready to help save the world!
Game Design
Do you like to play video games? Have you thought about what is required to create a video game? Have you ever wanted to create your own video game? This course will help you answer these questions. You will explore the world of game design using Unity software to create and play 2D and 3D multiplatform games in camp wide competitions.
Robotics
Have you ever wondered how robots operate? Have you ever wanted to learn how to code? In this course, you will explore the world of computa- tional thinking and microcontrollers using the mBot. You will learn how to program your very own micro-controlled robot and pit it against other students' robots in competitions such as Maze Runner and Robot Wars.

CREATEng
ENGINEER THE FUTUREJuly 17-20, Socastee High School
CREATEng is GSSM’s one-of-a-kind engineering and design thinking day camp for rising 7th, 8th and 9th graders. CREATEng students will interact with guest speakers and experience Engineering in Action by participating in a field trip at a local company.
In the CREATEng camp, students will take on the role of engineers who are challenged with designing a livable structure along with the various systems required to support living comfortably within the structure. Working through project-based, hands-on team challenges, the students will explore the areas of materials science, civil, environmental, and mechanical engineering. They will complete challenges in topics such as construction utilizing natural and recycled materials, green power generation systems, water harvesting and reuse systems, and wastewater treatment systems. As part of the process, students will be introduced to the various laws and regulations that may impact the design and construction of this type of structure.
