SunTrust Off To College Sweepstakes--Thirty $500 scholarships will be awarded. Open to high school seniors and current undergraduates. Free to enter and eligibility not based on GPA or financial need. Entries are accepted starting on October 30, 2017 until May 14, 2018.
AWAF Scholarships - January 27, 2018 (15 Awards - $2,500)
YDI Scholarship - January 29, 2018 (1 Award - $1,000)
Harris Poll Scholarship - January 31, 2018 (1 Award - $1,000)
The purpose of the scholarship program is to financially support post-secondary education for qualifying seniors or high school graduates attending their first year of college. Two scholarships are for students pursuing a degree in Education. The other two scholarships may be awarded to applicants pursuing degrees in Education or any other field.
Applications must be received by the Scholarship Committee Chairperson (either electronically or postmarked) by January 31, 2018.
Eligibility & Selection Criteria
A) This scholarship is offered to any student currently enrolled in an accredited community college, undergraduate, or graduate program in the United States. Students who are incoming first-year college students who are high school graduates or possess a GED can also apply.
B) The candidate must possess a demonstrated interest in community service and a dedication to their education.
C) All eligible candidates must be in good academic standing, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
D) A current unofficial transcript from the applicant's school (NOTE: First-year college students must submit an unofficial transcript from their most recent school, as well as an unofficial transcript from their current post-secondary institution.)
The official deadline for all application materials is January 31, 2018
To be eligible for the James F. Byrnes Foundation Scholarship, a student must meet the following qualifications:
- have one or both parents deceased
- be a United States citizen and a South Carolina resident
- have need of financial assistance to attend college
- be a current senior in high school
- have a satisfactory academic record
- plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $3,500 award, renewable for a total of four years. Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Applications must be submitted after January 2, 2018, and postmarked by February 1, 2018.
MBACC Scholarship - presented by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Educational Foundation.
Purpose: To provide scholarships to deserving Myrtle Beach area graduating seniors planning to enroll in higher education within eight (8) months upon graduation from high school.
Award: A one-time scholarship per awardee, in an amount to be determined by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Educational Foundation Board of Directors, will be paid directly to the recipient(s) for the intended purpose of offsetting first-year expenses related to higher education. Applicants: Applicants must meet each of the following requirements: • Applicant must be a legal resident of the United States. • Applicant must be a student in good standing at selected high schools in Horry and Georgetown counties. • Applicant must be a graduating high school senior during the school year of the award. • Applicant must be planning to attend an accredited institution of higher learning upon graduation from high school. Students planning to attend universities, colleges, seminaries, technical colleges and community colleges are all encouraged to apply. • Applicants must be planning to enroll in a post-secondary program of study that will result in a Bachelors or Associate Degree or equivalent. Each scholarship recipient must be an outstanding student athlete in one sport or more. Further, the scholarship awards will be based upon financial need, scholastic achievement, intellectual ability, and participation in co-curricular school activities in addition to athletics, and recommendation of a school staff member. The Scholarship Program of the Beach Ball Classic will award for the 2017 – 2018 school year a minimum of (9) $1,000.00 college scholarships to outstanding high school athletes.
All completed applications are to be submitted online by February 28, 2018.

Christophers Poster Contest for High School Students - February 19, 2018 (8 Awards - $1,000)
The Miles for Miles Scholarship is founded in memory of Kenneth (Miles) Davis and is designed to recognize and promote ethics and integrity among young people. The Miles for Miles Foundation® will award scholarships this year to two graduating Aynor High School Seniors who exemplify the best aspects of character quality in their personal choices and actions. Scholarship Information: Money is awarded directly toward educational expenses (tuition or Room/ Board) at any Accredited Institution. The recipient is required to be enrolled in an Educational Institution beginning the first fall quarter/ trimester/ semester immediately following graduation. The student may determine where and when to apply the scholarship funds throughout the school year. This is a onetime $1,000 non-renewable award. The deadline to apply is March 1st, 2018. The WIRE (Women Involved in Rural Electrification) Scholarship—Applicants must be a consumer or dependant of a consumer of Horry Electric Cooperative, Inc. and must live in the home with the Consumer of Horry Electric, Inc. The Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) encourages the study of geophysics and related geosciences. Scholarships are available for incoming college freshman who have an interest in earth sciences, particularly, geophysics. Funds provided may be applied to tuition, books, and fees. SEG Scholarships are based on merit. To qualify, you must be a student who: (1) is a high school senior planning to attend college next year or an undergraduate or graduate college student; (2) has above average grades; and (3) is intending to pursue a college curriculum directed toward a career in applied geophysics. The HCS Teacher Scholarship is now available. The purpose of this award is to recognize and support our outstanding seniors who choose to enter the field of professional education. The African American Network is a Duke Energy employee resource group of African American employees. The Network identifies developmental growth opportunities for African American employees at Duke Energy and creates value for Duke Energy as a business resource and an organization with solid brand reputation. As part of its mission, the African American Network – Carolinas chapter provides scholarships to college-bound students from North and South Carolina who are pursuing a major in engineering, math, science, computer science, accounting, finance or business administration.
Scholarships are awarded annually to two accredited colleges or universities and one community service organization. The college, university or community service organization selects the scholar using African American Network – Carolinas criteria which focus on grade point average, residence, leadership skills and financial need. The Pulver Green Project Award Committee is offering a $1000 scholarship award for the concept of a well-thought green project. Proposal applications to be considered for the $1000 scholarship award are due by March 16, 2018. The Peck Law Firm in Charleston, SC is currently accepting applications from graduating high school seniors for our $2,000 college scholarship to attend any accredited college/university in the United States. Kids' Chance Scholarships
To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have a parent or guardian who has been fatally or catastrophically injured in a work-related accident, meeting the criteria of the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Act and resulting in financial need. Deadline to apply is June 30th.
