HCS Board of Education Appoints Interim Chief Officers, Executive Director, and Interim Executive Assistant

During the Board Work Session on Monday, June 10, 2024, the Horry County Board of Education made the following staff appointments:
Joe Burch Named New Executive Director of Capital Projects
The Horry County Board of Education named Joe Burch the new Executive Director of Capital Projects. Mr. Burch is currently the coordinator of capital projects and planning and will begin his new position on July 1, 2024.
Ben Prince Named Interim Chief Officer of Support Services, Effective July 1, 2024.
The Horry County Board of Education named Ben Prince the interim Chief Officer of Support Services. Mr. Prince is currently the executive director of transportation and will begin his new position on July 1, 2024.
Lee James Named Interim Chief Officer of Academics, Effective July 1, 2024.
The Horry County Board of Education named Lee James the interim Chief Officer of Academics. Mr. James is currently a principal specialist in student services and will begin his new position on July 1, 2024.
Rob Grimes Named Interim Executive Director of Transportation, Effective July 1, 2024.
The Horry County Board of Education named Rob Grimes the interim Executive Director of Transportation. Mr. Grimes is currently a transportation coordinator and will begin his new position on July 1, 2024.
Amanda Plyler Named Interim Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and Horry County Board of Education, Effective July 1, 2024.
The Horry County Board of Education named Amanda Plyler the interim Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and Horry County Board of Education. Ms. Plyler is currently a secretary in curriculum and instruction and will begin her new position on July 1, 2024.
