    Food Handler Certification: $25

    Food Manager Certification: $50

    ServSafe certification is a credential that demonstrates a person has the knowledge and skills to ensure food safety in a variety of settings. The National Restaurant Association (NRA) administers the program, which is accredited by the American National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and the Conference for Food Protection. 
     
    There are multiple levels of ServSafe certification, including: 
     
    • ServSafe Manager Certification
      This certification is for people in management positions, such as restaurant owners and managers, who are responsible for food safety. To receive this certification, you must pass a 90-question, multiple-choice exam. 
       
    • ServSafe Food Handler Certificate
      This certification is for food handler employees and verifies basic food safety knowledge. To receive this certification, you must pass a 40-question exam that is non-proctored and has no time limit. 
       
    ServSafe certification is not required for all food handlers, as food safety training requirements vary by state and county. 
     
    ServSafe certification is intended to prevent foodborne illnesses by improving safety and hygiene in food preparation.
