Welcome to Black Water Middle School

Our school was born in the fall of 2006 when Carolina Forest Middle School split, forming Ocean Bay Middle and Black Water Middle. We remained together on the Carolina Forest campus until 2006. Black Water Middle School opened the doors to the current campus in May 2007. 

We are a school of around 800 sixth through eighth graders located at 900 East Cox Ferry Road in Conway, South Carolina. Students from Waccamaw Elementary School and Palmetto Bays Elementary School feed into Black Water Middle. Our students are zoned to attend Carolina Forest High School.

Our facility consists of separate halls for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade as well as discoveries. Teachers have a common planning time each day when they plan standards-based, highly engaging activities through collaboration and blended learning.

We are a technology-rich wireless campus. Our teachers have laptops, projectors, and Classroom Performance Systems to enhance the learning experience for our students. Each student is issued a laptop to use for educational purposes through the HCS PDL Program.

We are excited to be a part of the Fine Arts Magnet schools serving some of the most talented students in Horry County!
