Attendance:
School begins at 7:30am in the morning. Students arriving at 7:38 or after are rushing to get to their classroom before the tardy bell rings. Any student arriving in their classroom after 7:40 will be marked tardy. Please have your student to school by 7:30 so they can start their day off relaxed instead of rushing.
Please contact the attendance office concerning absences, tardy and early sign-outs. Document, document, document with medical excuses or parent notes when your child is out sick. If your child is signed out or in for any doctor appointment – again – document, document, document with a medical excuse from the provider. Contact the attendance office for Principal Approval Request forms concerning hardships or educational trips.
Remember: Horry County Schools attendance policy: 3+ consecutive unexcused absences, 5+ accumulative unexcused absences or 10+ unexcused tardy/early sign-outs will result in an AIP (Attendance Intervention Plan) being implemented. *You can download the district’s School Attendance information in a PDF sheet here.
