The Visual Arts Department at Carolina Forest High School offers a unique and challenging curriculum for students who would like to take an interest in aesthetics and personal creativity.  The courses are divided into five classes:  Art I through Art V.  Beginning art classes focus on teaching students the basic skills needed for continued study in the visual arts.  The curriculum is built around the Elements and Principles of Design, art history, aesthetics, and technique development.  Intermediate Art furthers the students’ study of visual art while working with more advanced techniques and media to solve both two and three-dimensional design problems.  Advanced art offers students the opportunity to work on an AP portfolio if so desired.  Each course is designed to encourage self-discovery and individual creativity.
