Digital Footprint

Everything you do online is linked to digital content and information.  When you use your phone to text your friends, send a Snapchat, Tweet, use other Social Media, and browse the internet, you are creating YOUR digital footprint.  A digital footprint that allows others to locate and see any and everything that you have ever done, even if you delete it, forever!

So, what is a digital footprint?

A digital footprint is an electronic trail left behind anytime you are online or use an electronic device.  The places you visit, the photos you send or upload, and comments you make are creating a digital permanent record.

Your digital footprint is like a tattoo, something that is extremely difficult to remove permanently.

Strategies to manage your digital footprint.

Keep your personal information private. Do not share your username or password with anyone.Think before you post. Do not post any text, pictures, etc. online that you would not want everyone to see.

Have you ever done something that you regretted and had

it posted online?
