  • 2021 Summer Scholars Registration Information

    Horry County Schools’ Summer Scholars Program is a special experience that provides academic enrichment opportunities to gifted and talented students in grades 3-11. Summer Scholars recognizes the importance of allowing gifted and talented students the opportunity for critical thinking and learning through creative exploration.

    NOTE:  Transportation is not included and must be provided by the parent.

    Pricing

    • 1 class - $125
    • 2 classes - $225
    • 3 classes - $325
    • 4 classes - $425


    *Specialized classes require an additional $10 for each class

    *Summer Scholars t-shirts are available for purchase at $12 each.  T-shirts will be preordered and available on the first day of the student's session.

     Scholarships

    • Scholarships are available for Horry County Schools students who are in a Gifted and Talented Classroom AND who are eligible for free or reduced lunch. Please submit the current “Notification of Benefits” letter along with the application in order to qualify.
    • If you cannot locate your approval letter, please contact the Food Services Department at (843) 488-6925 for assistance.
    • Specialized class fees and t-shirts are not included in the scholarship and will need to pay for by the parent.

     

    Registration Deadlines

    The deadline for online registration is 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021.  Payment or notification of benefits letter (scholarship invoice) is due to the district office no later than Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Registration will not be complete and students will not be registered if payment is not received by Wednesday, May 5, 2021.

    Once your online application is submitted, you will receive an invoice page to print out with further instructions on completing the payment/registration process. Registration is not complete until the invoice is printed and mailed in with appropriate fees. For those requesting a scholarship, a current letter of benefits must be included with your invoice.  No refunds will be issued after Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

    NOTE: T-shirts and specialized class fees are not included in scholarship awards and a check for said fees must be included with the invoice.
