Hello, My name is Darby Campen!

I graduated from Socastee High School and received a bachelor's degree in English from USC.  In 2008, I returned to USC and received a master's degree in Library and Information Science, with a specialization in school libraries.  After spending seven years working with children in the public library system in both Horry and Georgetown counties, I am delighted to join MBP as the school library media specialist.  My goal is to make the library a warm and welcoming spot where both students and staff can read, think, create, and share.

When I'm not in the library, I'm trying to find a quiet spot to read in the house I share with my husband, four children (Maggie, Jack, Andrew, and Luke), three cats, a leopard gecko, various fish and turtles, and a large German Shepherd named Jerry.
