Internship/Practicum Placement Procedures
Horry County Schools is committed to working with our academic institutional partners to optimize the educational experiences of undergraduate and graduate students seeking to become professional teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators.
Important!!
Internships (student teaching) and practicum (field experience) placements are arranged by the HCS District Office in the consultation will school-level administrators. Under no circumstances should college/universities or students contact schools, principals, or teachers directly for placements.
Due to the increased numbers of student teacher and educational leadership applications for internships and practicums, HCS cannot guarantee a placement in our district. Priority placement consideration will be given to applications submitted by required due dates following district procedures. The later an application is received, the fewer assignments and choices are available. No summer placements are available.
