The mission of the North Myrtle Beach High School library is to empower students and teachers to be confident readers and users of information. This mission will be accomplished by:
*creating an environment for students that is conducive to reading, thinking and creating
*collaborating with staff members on information literacy lessons
*fostering a love of reading by maintaining an up-to-date book collection and planning programs that promote reading for pleasure
When collaborating with teachers to prepare lessons, Ms. Keeter promotes the Standards for the 21st Century Learner from the American Association of School Librarians. These standards focus on preparing students to become confident information-users and productive society members. These standards can be found here.
