Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Tim Zeltwanger and I am currently teaching 5th grade at Ocean Bay Elementary in Myrtle Beach, SC. The 2017-18 school year will be my 14th year of teaching. My first two years in the teaching field were spent teaching Kindergarten at Carolina Forest Elementary. After that, I taught 7 years of 4th grade at Carolina Forest and this will be my 5th year of at Ocean Bay, and my first teaching 5th grade. I absolutely love the connection and learning that takes place with my students and I look forward to many more in the future.
My life's travels have taken me up and down the east coast. I was born in Virginia, lived a majority of my life in Maryland, graduated from Flagler College in Florida, and now of course living and teaching in South Carolina. Needless to say, the Atlantic Ocean has never been very far for me!
My wife April is an instructional coach here at Ocean Bay as well. We both love living at the beach and as of July of 2013, we can now share our experiences with our son, Tyler. We both have been in the education field our entire professional lives and both earned our Master's Degrees in Education through Walden University. Outside of the classroom we enjoy sports and spending time with Tyler and our dog, Ovie.
As you can probably tell, I'm a huge Michigan fan. It is hard to find me anywhere else other than watching Michigan football on Saturdays in the fall. Also, being from Maryland most of my life, I'm a huge Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens fan. Every summer, April and I make our way back to at least one Orioles game and once every fall we make it to a Ravens game. The Ravens tradition has been ongoing with my brothers for twelve years now!
