    Vision Care Notice
    Employees enrolled in the United HealthCare (Spectera) vision plan must swicth to the PEBA EyeMed plan during open enrollment if they wish to have vision coverage in 2019.  Effective midnight, December 31, 2018 coverage under the United HealthCare plan will end for all employees and COBRA subscribers.


    Medical/Dependent Care / Health Savings Account Vendor Change
    The vendor for medical spending, dependent care, and health savings accounts is changing in 2019.  If you participate in any of these plans, make sure you read the information provided by PEBA to re-enroll.  The old paper enrollment form is no longer available.


    HCS has partnered with Ward Services to provide trained benefit counselors at your location.  During open enrollment, you will be able to schedule an appointment to meet with a counselor.  They will be able to explain your options and help you with benefit changes.

    Who is Ward Services? 

    Ward Services offers enrollment assistance for 9 of the 10 largest school districts in South Carolina.  Their non-commissioned counselors are trained to assist employees with open enrollment options for the SC PEBA benefits as well has the voluntary benefits offered to employees of Horry County Schools.
