Message from the Principal
Welcome to South Conway Elementary School! It has been my pleasure for the last ten years to serve as your principal. South Conway is a very unique school. We have approximately 620 students in grades PreK through five. Our school is helping all students develop world class skills and career characteristics of the profile of a South Carolina graduate by providing a caring, safe, and academically challenging learning environment. We provide an environment through the implementation of our school's vision: a school that develops the emotional, social, and intellectual development of each child and provides service learning opportunities for students to solve real-world problems through becoming active, responsible citizens. Our school received a Report Card rating from the S.C. State Department of Education as "Good". Early intervention continues to be a focus in our school. Interventions through an RTI model provide our students assistance in reading and math based upon their academic needs.
We encourage parents to get involved. We have an active PTO as well as a School Improvement Council. Many parents throughout the year participate by volunteering for different school activities such as Manners' Day, field days, fundraising activities, etc. We have a parenting center and Family School Coordinator that works closely with our school families and community to provide support when needed. We are fortunate to have community partners such as Jamestown Baptist Church and The Rock Church, Santee Cooper, Billy's Boys, and Backpack Buddies to mention only a few.
It is our goal each year to build strong relationships with our students, parents, and community to support our efforts in the success of all of our students. Thank you for being a part of our school family!
