Message from the Superintendent

I am so excited to become a part of Horry County Schools.

This district is full of amazing teachers, administrators, and staff at every level who work hard to make a difference in our students’ lives.

In 2025, we implemented Rise With Reading, and it has really taken off! Many different metrics are already telling the story of improved student literacy, but we’ve had so many more successes beyond that. Our students have won championships and recognitions in academics, sports, fine arts, career skills, and more, and our staff have earned awards and recognitions for their exceptional work as well.

This annual report gives a bird’s-eye view of everything going on in the district during 2025, but it is by no means the full story. The full story is too long to fit in a single book, but it’s a good one, worth reading as much as you can. I have certainly enjoyed reading it so far, and I look forward to the chapter titled 2026.
