For the seventh time in eight years, Horry County Schools received the prestigious Best Communities for Music Education designation from the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation. HCS was one of only eight school districts in SC to earn the designation this year.
The HCS Communications team won 14 awards from the South Carolina chapter of the National School Public Relations Association, including a Golden Achievement award and one of only two Medallion Awards this year.
The American Heart Association announced that HCS was the top lifesaving district in South Carolina and the 13th nationwide for participation in programs to educate students and their families about heart-related health topics.
At the School Nutrition Association of SC’s annual conference, the HCS Nutrition Services team won the Grand Prize: a two-day culinary training course valued at $10,000.
