The Horry County Schools Academics Division is comprised of dedicated staff members who provide services and support to the 56 schools and programs that serve approximately 45,000 students in Horry County. Academics/Learning Services includes academics for all schools and special programs, curriculum and instruction, ESOL, assessment, professional development, early childhood programs, fine arts, federal programs, special education, and gifted education.

Horry County Schools’ mission is to be recognized as one of the nation’s premier school systems, in which every student receives an excellent education. Learning Services, focusing on the core business of teaching and learning, strives to provide assistance to our students, parents, teachers, and school administrators to achieve the goals outlined in our mission. The web pages under the Learning Services umbrella contain a variety of information and resources for students, parents, and staff. We are genuinely committed to providing a premier education to the children of Horry County.
