Summer Reading 2025
Summer reading is an important way for students to stay engaged, improve their reading skills, and prepare for future academic success. HCS is excited to challenge elementary students this summer to participate in READ- OPOLY.
What is READ-OPOLY?
READ-OPOLY is a summer reading challenge that runs from May 27th to September 2nd.
Students read books, track their progress, and work toward becoming reading champions!

How Do Students Participate?
Each student will receive a READ-OPOLY board to track their progress.
To play, students read books and record each title in the matching spaces on the board. As they complete books, they’ll advance around the board, unlocking new challenges and earning recognition along the way!

Prizes and recognition will be awarded at the school level
Students are encouraged to choose a variety of books based on these fun "training" drills:

Reading Speed – A book you can read quickly and comprehend

Special Teams Drill – A book that’s special to you

Superpower Reading – A book about your favorite superhero
