Summer Dual Enrollment

Students must meet all of the following criteria:

• Be enrolled in HCS and rising from junior to senior year, with:
  • 3 math credits
  • 3 English (ELA) credits
  • At least 18 total high school credits
• Meet the 4.0 weighted GPA requirement
• Complete the CCU application and submit all required documents
• Attend a mandatory orientation with CCU representatives

Note: A disciplinary record of ISS or OSS may negatively impact acceptance into CCU.

Students accepted into the program must agree to the following:

• Term:
  • Courses will run during the CCU Summer I Term, which will start on June 8, 2026, and typically lasts about 5 weeks into mid-July.
• Course Funding:
  • HCS will cover up to 6 dual enrollment courses per year. Students who have already taken 6 courses must pay for additional courses (scholarships may be available).
• Minimum Grade Requirement:
  • Students must earn at least 70%. If the final grade falls below 70, the student must reimburse HCS for tuition and textbooks. Students who score below a 70% will not be eligible for future dual enrollment courses. 
• Course Withdrawal Policy:
  • Students who drop or are removed after the 5th day must repay HCS for the course and textbook. A W/F will appear on the transcript and be recorded as a 50 for GPA calculations.
• Transcript and Grading:
  • Grades will appear on both high school and college transcripts. CCU letter grades convert as follows under the South Carolina Uniform Grading Policy:
    • A = 95
    • B = 85
    • C = 75
    • D = 65
    • F = 50

• The first 50 eligible students to submit completed applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis
• A waitlist will be maintained until the first day of classes
• Students will be required to complete an HCS commitment form prior to enrolling in CCU coursework 

• Students should always consult with their school counselor before enrolling to ensure courses align with graduation requirements, their Individual Graduation Plan (IGP), and postsecondary goals.
