Stay Connected with Google Classroom

Google Classroom is an online learning platform used by Horry County Schools teachers to share assignments, announcements, class materials, and other learning resources with students.
Parents and guardians can stay informed about their student's Google Classroom activity through Guardian Email Summaries.

Student Login

Students can access Google Classroom by visiting classroom.google.com

Login Instructions

  1. Navigate to Google Classroom.
  2. Sign in using your Horry County Schools Google account.
  3. Select the appropriate class.

Students should use their HCS-issued Google account to access Google Classroom.

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari

Google Classroom Mobile App

Students can access Google Classroom from a mobile device using the Google Classroom app.

Download the app:

  • Apple App Store (iPhone/iPad)
  • Google Play Store (Android)

Students should sign in using their Horry County Schools Google account.

Parents and guardians do not need the Google Classroom app. Guardian Email Summaries arrive by email.

Parent and Guardian Access

Parents and guardians do not join Google Classroom as students and do not need a class code.
To receive Guardian Email Summaries, contact your student's teacher and ask to be added as a guardian in Google Classroom. The teacher will send a guardian invitation to your email address.

Guardian Email Summaries May Include

  • Missing work
  • Upcoming assignments and due dates
  • New assignments, announcements, and recent class activity

Accepting a Guardian Invitation

  1. Look for an email invitation from Google Classroom.
  2. Open the invitation.
  3. Select Accept.
  4. Confirm that you would like to be connected as the student's guardian.

Invitations expire after 120 days. If yours has expired, ask the teacher to send a new one.

You do not need a separate invitation from every teacher. Once you are connected as a guardian for your student, you can receive weekly summaries for participating Google Classroom classes.
