Recent Capital Projects

The contractor is conducting HVAC start-ups and installing plumbing fixtures, flooring, cabinetry,  kitchen equipment, and ceiling tiles. Work continues for off-site road improvements and parking lots and drives. Building is completely dried in, masonry complete, courtyards being graded, driveways, loops, fire lanes, and parking fields being installed. 

Ten Oaks Elementary is a multistory design, with a core capable of supporting 1,200 students. Budget $62,303,569.  Construction began May 2023.  The project is on schedule and expected to be completed July 2025.

Pine Island Elementary is a multistory design, with a core capable of supporting 1,200 students. Budget $63,969,431.  Construction began May 2023.  The project is on schedule and expected to be completed July 2025.

The project will upgrade athletics at all nine high schools, with a focus on tennis courts, running tracks, and stadium playing surfaces. Current phase addresses tennis courts at four facilities Aynor High, Socastee High, North Myrtle Beach High and St. James High.   Current Budget $5,500,000.

A new loop road at Black Water Middle School for parent drop-off and pick-up traffic to help reduce congestion on the highway in front of the school and improve emergency access.  The contract for design has been issued and the geotechnical and wetland reports have been completed. Budget $1,500,000.

New bus facility on a parcel located at the intersection of George Bishop Parkway and Investors Blvd. The bus facility is located on approximately 39.3 acres and will accommodate the bus fleets from Carolina Forest High, Myrtle Beach High, and Socastee High. The parking lot consists of parking for approximately 290 buses on concrete and 280 staff vehicles on asphalt. There are also plans for a large propane fueling station for the propane buses.  Budget $15,000,000.
