Scholarships with Upcoming Deadlines
Blue Pride Scholarship: This scholarship is available to LHS Student Athletes. A weighted 3.500 minimum GPA is required for applicant to be considered. Submit this application and letter of recommendation to the guidance office by April 30, 2021.
The Whittemore High School Alumni Association Scholarship: Applicant must be a descendant of an Alumnus of Whittemore High School. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) based on an unweighted grading scale. Applicant must be currently graduating from an accredited high school. Applicant should exhibit academic promise and demonstrate financial need. Applicant should include a letter of recommendation from a teacher or another adult who can provide a character reference of the applicant. This person cannot be a relative. The applicant should attach a wallet-size photo to the required personal statement. NOTE: The number of recipients and the number of individual scholarships will be determined each year by the scholarship committee, based on the availability of funds. Scholarship awards will be made when the applicant enrolls in and attends classes.
Awards will be mailed directly to the college upon verification of enrollment by the institution. Deadline: April 31, 2021
Scholarships with Future Deadlines
Low Country Herb Society Scholarship: The Low Country Herb Society, a group whose knowledge of herbs, to sponsor and cultivate related herb programs in the community and to gain knowledge and stimulate inerest in the planting, harvesting and uses of herbs, is pleased to offer two $1,000 scholarships to students living within Horry and Georgetown counties. To be eligible, students should show an interest in herbs and their uses and intend to pursue a career path that will involve herbs. The scholarship will be awarded to students who plan to attend two/four year college or accredited technical institutions and to study horticulture, landscaping, culinary arts, medicine, pharmacy, or related field programs. Deadline: Monday, May 3, 2021.
2021 Law Offices of Anthony Carbone Scholarship: In order to apply for this scholarship, please write a 500+ word essay on why having a higher education is important. We'd like to learn more about you as a student, and how you've persevered and fought to get the education you want. Tell us about one challenge, and how it has prepared you for the challenges you face. Award Amount: $1,000. Available to any high school senior in the United States that desires to apply. Deadline: July 31, 2021.
