Scholarships with Upcoming Deadlines

  • Central Carolina Community Foundation: Our scholarship application is now open. More than $500,000 is available to high school seniors and college students for the 2021-2022 school year. By completing the general application for the 2021-22 academic year, students will be matched with all the awards for which they may be eligible. High school seniors, current college students, graduate students, or adult re-entry students attending accredited schools anywhere in the U.S. may apply. Scholarships are available for two-year and four-year colleges and universities, as well as technical and vocational schools. Deadline to apply is March 5, 2021.


    Horry County Solid Waste Authority: Every year, the Horry County Solid Waste Authority (SWA) awards one graduating high school senior from each high school a one-time $1,000 scholarship to encourage students pursuing a degree related to the environment, which supports SWA’s mission of Protecting Tomorrow’s Environment Today. Deadline: March 5, 2021.


    The Key Scholarship: Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union and Horry Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (HTC) have partnered to offer two scholarship awards to graduating high school seniors from Horry, Georgetown, Marion, Williamsburg, and the southern part of Florence County. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to rising college freshmen seeking a four-year degree from Coastal Carolina University or Francis Marion University. The scholarship may be renewed for an additional three years in the amount of $500 per year should the award recipient continue to meet qualifying criteria. The amount a Key Scholarship recipient may be awarded over a four-year period is $2,500. Deadline: March 5, 2021 If any information is incomplete, the application could be rejected. If the application is postmarked after March 5, 2021 the application will be rejected.


    The HCS Teacher Scholarship: The purpose of the Horry County Schools Teacher Scholarshp is to provide recognition and financial support to graduates of Horry County Schools who aspire to become educators. Deadline for entry is Monday, March 8 at 5 pm.  Every application will be assessed, and a pool of finalists will be invited to participate in an interview with members of the Teacher Forum.  


    Jason Vance Chatlosh Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is open to students accepted at an accredited institution of higher learning who will be swimming at the college level.  The deadline for application is March 31, 2021.  We will be accepting scholarships via mail and email this year.

    Grand Strand Running Club Scholarship: Each year the GSRC awards 2- $1,000 Scholarships to Horry County Seniors (one male and one female). The main criteria is that they participate in a running related sport (cross country and/ or track). Deadline is April 1, 2021


    Sherriff’s Foundation of Horry County’s Annual Scholarship: The Sheriff’s Foundation of Horry County (hereinafter, Foundation) awards up to eight (8) scholarships annually for college-bound high school seniors with an expressed interest in pursuing an education in a criminal justice or legal studies field. Emphasis will be placed on those attending Horry Georgetown Technical College and Coastal Carolina University. Criteria: Candidates eligible for assistance must be graduating high school seniors andresidents of Horry County, with the intent to continue their education at a two-year or four-year accredited college or university. Consideration will be given to academic achievement, community service record, and demonstrated leadership qualities. Candidates should submit a scholarship application on the form provided by the Foundation along with a 500 word minimum essay. Amount: Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,500 each. Deadline: The application deadline is April 2, 2021. The Foundation uses the postmarked date to determine eligibility deadline for mailed entries.


    2021 Law Offices of Anthony Carbone Scholarship: In order to apply for this scholarship, please write a 500+ word essay on why having a higher education is important. We'd like to learn more about you as a student, and how you've persevered and fought to get the education you want. Tell us about one challenge, and how it has prepared you for the challenges you face. Award Amount: $1,000. Available to any high school senior in the United States that desires to apply. Deadline: July 31, 2021.
