Pre-Medicine

  •  In Pre-Medicine, students are introduced to the exciting and greatly diverse career choices offered in the medical field. These potential areas include health and medical, surgical, veterinary, dental, psychological, therapeutic, and alternative treatments. As students grow into young professionals in the early stages of the program, they become prepared to intern at facilities such as area hospitals, medical offices, and fire & rescue units. These internships help students to determine the areas of health and medicine that are the best choices for them and what career paths they may take.   Pre-medicine is both a challenging and highly satisfying course of study that helps students develop a passion and respect for the medical profession. Pre-med major students have the opportunity to earn 3 credit hours through an articulation agreement with Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
